roads two areas from the main "Park". Of these the southern one (A) is of some size, but it is unfortunately on two different levels. The lower southern half (A-1) is used as a recreation ground and excavation has been made from the upper half (A-2) so that eventually the area will be divided into two, A-1 being some 9 feet below the level of A-2 the latter being finished off with a steep slope. The second area (B) is a triangular one of which the apex (B-1) is useless for purposes of public grounds and forms a derelict patch of ground alike unsightly and troublesome to keep in order. The building referred to is 019 leased let adjacent to the trimcular portion of 300 Park. The remainder (B-2) is used as a foot-ball and cricket ground. I propose that the apex of this triangular piece of ground shall be granted to the Diocesan Girls' School on the conditions attached, and they will be able to make a play-ground of a portion of the extreme apex and a garden of the remainder as sketched (vide enclosure 2).

I have the honour to request that the War Office may be approached with a view to their agreeing to this proposal, since the land will not be alienated to the benefit of the Colonial Revenue, but solely for a public purpose, and children of soldiers or of the civilian employees of the Garrison in Kowloon will be welcome to avail themselves of the school if they so desire. As the school has to evacuate its present quarters at so early a date, and as the erection of a new building will take time I have the honour to request that your approval may if possible be conveyed by telegram.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
